I Miss...

Her laugh.

Her hugs.

The silly names she made up for the kids' stuffed animals.

The way she could nurse a beer for hours.

The way she loved my boys.

Her no-nonsense way of giving us all tough love when we needed it.

Her potato salad.

Her house on Christmas Eve.

The way she loved my husband and laughed at his jokes.

Being with her at the beach.

Our talks on the way to work in the morning.

Our talks on the way home from work in the afternoon.

Her smell.

......

I miss my sister.

I just miss her so much.

It hurts everyday, but for some reason it hurts a little more tonight.

I love you Zhea.

  1. I'm sorry you don't have your sister anymore. Sounds like the world is a lesser place without her.

  2. I'm so, so deeply sorry for your loss. Will say a little prayer and remember you the next time I'm chatting with my sister on the way to work.

  3. Sending you hugs. We all need them sometimes. You need them now. So huge hugs from here are coming your way. There'll be good days and bad days. And when you hit the bad ones, make sure you take care of yourself first.

  4. Who knows why some days hurt more than others? Shay Rosemeyer calls them "days less floating". I think of them as days when the scab has been ripped off and the wound bleeds and hurts. Whatever it is, it's tough and it hurts and I'm so sorry for that.

I can't imagine losing Jessie--I just can't fathom it. I'm so sorry for your loss.

    Big fat hugs.

  5. I think of you when I start missing MIL (which, seriously, has come as a bit of a surprise, missing her I mean). I try to say little prayers for both of us. Hugs, Peg, hugs. I wish we could get a warning that some days were going to hurt more than others.
